State Representative Karen Boback Is Running for a Third Term
State Representative Karen Boback (R-Columbia/Luzerne/Wyoming) officially announced that she
will be running for a third term in the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives serving the
people of the 117th Legislative District.

Boback stated, “I am committed to the people I represent and remain focused on property tax
reform. I am an advocate for small business, economic development, and job growth.  Road and
bridge projects are a priority. I am steadfast with issues concerning seniors, children, and veterans. I
am dedicated to the 31 municipalities that I represent.”

Rep. Boback holds several key positions that directly impact residents in the117th District.  She
serves on the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, which oversees all aspects of
Agriculture, ranked as Pennsylvania’s highest revenue generating industry.

She serves on the House Aging and Older Adult Services Committee, affording her the opportunity
to create and guide policies that protect senior citizens, and the elderly.

Boback is a member of the Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee which focuses
on laws relating to veteran services and benefits, as well as programs for Pennsylvania’s fire and
ambulance volunteers and disaster relief.

She is co-founder and serves on the Elder Abuse Task Force of Luzerne and Wyoming Counties.

Task Force. "Marcellus Shale, wind turbines and solar are alternate forms of energy that will have a
major impact on my district. It is my job to promote legislation that will not only make us energy
independent, but will protect the environment. We only get one chance to do it right. "

Pennsylvania. Her initiatives over the years, coupled with her dedication to helping others has
benefited not only the residents of the 117th District, but the entire Commonwealth.

She has a conservative record of holding the line on state spending and stated, “I will continue to be
an advocate and spokesperson for sound economic policies, transparency in government, and budget
reform.”

Rep. Boback proved that she has broad support among a cross-section of voters in her district
including Republicans, Democrats and Independents, by winning the 2008 general election by 72%
